   No, it isn’t. I now have my own brand of White Medium called FastFlo White Basecoat Medium. It’s a thin, white oil medium which allows you to get subtle blending directly on the canvas.    Am pleased about that. Am a traditional Oil user too. Do you have a tutorial on painting clouds that are below, or slightly below the viewpoint ?

   These are traditional Oils. I’ve never cared for the water-based variety.

   Yes, though you may want to use a retarder to slow the drying time.

    Yes, this approach will work with Acrylics, too. I’ve never heard of those “whites” you mention. I always use Titanium White in my Oils.

    Fantastic… a simple foundament can have such a big effect
    I`m wondering… is that going to work with acrylics?? and i have 4 types of white and i don`t know what to do with those… i have: White Structure, White Nacre, White Crystal, White .

    This is a fantastic Tutorial. Thank you so much for your painting lessons!
    My painting teacher is great at providing feedback during critiques and while observing us; but he didnt tell us “how” to actually make our clouds or landscapes. For a beginning painting class it feels necessary to learn these basic techniques.

    Thanks for the help! I’m in the process of a surrealistic-style painting where I’m using clouds and I just couldn’t get them to look, well, like clouds. This really helps!
